Anthropological Contributions to Contemporary Issues of Nepal

The Central Department of Anthropology (CDA), Tribhuvan University, Nepal, is organizing a National Conference on Bhadra 25 and 26, 2083 (10-11 September 2026). Kathmandu. Interested scholars, researchers, practitioners, and students are requested to submit a 250-word abstract highlighting the research questions, methodology, and main arguments. The conference is expected to offer an interactive space for the promotion of anthropological debate, knowledge, and networking opportunities among anthropologists and social scientists from home and abroad. The conference expects paper on, but not limited to, the following themes:

• Land, agrarian culture and informal settlement

• Democracy, populism, and election

Submission Guidelines
• Abstracts: Should be no more than 250 words, clearly stating the research problem, methodology, key findings and conclusion.
• Full Papers: Must be original work not previously published. Specific formatting guidelines will be sent after abstract notification.
• Language: Submissions are accepted in both English and Nepali.
Important Deadlines
Abstract Submission Deadline: August 1, 2026
• Notification of Acceptance: August 7, 2026
• Full Paper Submission: September 1, 2026
• Conference Date: September 10, 2026 (Bhadra 25, 2083)
Note: Registration open: August 15 onwards. For online registration, visit the conference Website. Participants are expected to make arrangements for their travel and accommodation on their own. Participants can write to the conference secretariat for an official letter of support to facilitate their travel process to attend the conference.
